G was born into a poor family in a small town in southern Italy. His father was a violin craftsman, however his town was rather poor, and thus business did not go well. Food was hard to come by and what little they did have typically went to his ill mother. Hence when G began to take to the streets with petty theft at fruit stands and pick-pocketing, and eventually fishing, and generally learning how to feed himself.

His family were good people, though he never really allowed himself to get too close to them. His father was a hard worker, who let G watch him while he worked on his craft. However, G didn't exactly have the longest of attention spans for such a delicate job and often went romping outside within a few minutes. This was more or less the only time he would spend with his father since he was a busy man. His mother had three daughters, only one of which lived long enough to learn to talk and eventually she died as well at age five. G grew up often acting as the general caretaker of the house, tending to his sick mother and baby sisters while his father was at work.
The last child, Giuseppa, claimed his mother's life when he was eight. He wasn't very fazed by this though, as he was used to her being sick and had distanced himself from her for a long time, expecting her death. Something he regretted as he got older, but never confided this fact to anyone.

G ended growing very fond of his last sister. His mother let him choose the name of the baby- since he was the only one to live so long, a name he chose might bring some luck... so of course he tried to name the baby after himself. G's mother simply went along with it, and when his last sister was born she was named "Giuseppina", but G said it was to girly and refused to address her as anything except "Giuseppa". Like he had been with his mother and previous sisters, G diligently watched over her, and allowed himself to get attached, thoroughly believing that almost sharing a name made the baby almost invincible. And without having to worry about his mother, he was more free to go out in the town so long as he had his sister with him. It was a rare occasion he was too far from his sister, unless he had done some stupid little boy thing and hung the papoose in tree while he ran off to pick a fight with Giotto (he got a good few whacks from his father when he found out about that one).

After his mother's death his father pushed G more about learning his trade, and G did his best to learn, but he just didn't have the patience for it. Though it did instill the finer motor skill he would later apply to shooting his bow. As far as formal education goes, G didn't really get any until after the Vongola was formed. In fact, up until that point he was illiterate, unable to properly write his whole name, abbreviating it simply to G, that and he didn't like his full name- Giuseppe. Too common for his liking, and it left a bitter aftertaste after Giuseppa's death. He has long since abandoned this as his name (he still can't spell it) and getting him to actually SAY his real name is just about impossible.

G met Giotto during one of his street excursions when he was seven. Giotto was picking a fight with a town thug and with now warning whatsoever G joined right in. Because it was fun. Assuming more fun would be found around Giotto after they both got their asses handed to them, G started following Giotto around... and Giotto made the mistake of feeding G at some point, and from that point on G was a regular guest in his household.

After the death of Giuseppa, G just ended up hightailing out of his house and to the streets, unable to handle the daily reminder of her death the house provided. He couldn't see much a point either, his father was always tired or busy, and it was easier to get fed on the streets than at home. And became the street version of jungle boy. There were a lot of families who took to feeding him or letting him spend the night, Giotto's family included. Thus, G and Giotto became close friends, and G became the obnoxious pugnacious sidekick. Sometime during all of this G pilfered his first gun, a nice shiny pistol. He was instantly drawn to the weapon, and began pursuing his mastery of it, collecting different types of guns for different situations. He became a skilled sharpshooter, which didn't change when he adopted the bow that Giotto had given him.

When G got a bit older, about age sixteen, G made an attempt at joining one of the local militias. He saved up for months to get himself a military uniform, and tried to get in on the basis that his father was a craftsman (as only master craftsmen and men from well-to-do families were allowed to join the militia). Unfortunately he didn't qualify and while accepted to train (he was a damn good shot after all) was booted not long after he joined. Of course he was booted in the most spectacular way possible after the leader of the squad made a comment about his upbringing. Which lead to G sassing back in his usual colorful way... which the commander followed up by trying to punch G in the face... which lead to a brawl...

...and somehow ended up with G biting off a chunk of the commander's ear, and getting dishonorably discharged because he was 'Mentally deficient and incapable of taking orders'. Though he was forced to keep the uniform and wear it for a while on account of not really having many other clothes.

Like Gokudera, there were events that caused him to mellow out over time, but that didn't stop him from causing a lot of trouble for Giotto... though Giotto did drag G into just as much trouble. G enjoyed never having a dull moment.

G died at the ripe young age of twenty-eight from lead poisoning (because he's been shot QUITE a few times with some good old fashioned lead bullets. It was inevitable), though due to the last few years being so fuzzy for him he's not sure if he died at age twenty-six or twenty-eight. The day he died he was attacked by the Second Vongola's famigilia/Spade. He fought damn damn good, fending off the attack without a scratch despite feeling the effects of his illness overcoming him. He managed to stumble back to his home and laid down hoping to sleep off this episode, as he had become rather used to them, but this time he didn't wake up. However in his mind he lived a full and happy life, and regretted nothing except not being able to prevent the downfall of the Primo's generation.

Physical junk

Physically, G is a very slender man, and tall for his time period at about 5'9. He's got a lot of muscle on him as well, but just... not much else. He's the sort of guy that would eat a big juicy steak for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and hardly put much weight on at all. He's incredibly active, has a great metabolism, and doesn't eat much. If he were to take off his shirt, it would be noticeable that he's not exactly the most healthy weight. While he's not obviously not starving, he is a very light man. His ribs can be seen, and he doesn't have much width to him. He's also very pale, so with as much time as he spent outside, he was probably sunburned quite frequently. He's been compared to a 'starving greyhound' or had comments about him along the lines that he is 'built like a bird'.

Naturally this gives him the appearance of being rather frail, or possibly sickly, but this is not the case. While he did die from illness, he's always had the same build. Tall, pale, bony, lanky with a good layer of muscle. He can hold his own in most physical altercations too, a normal person would find it difficult to best him in a fight. However, he is not able to keep up with the more shonen-eque fighters in terms of hand-to-hand combat. He's quick on his feet due to his light weight, but he's too tall to be completely effective at dodging, and while he can hit hard, he also takes hits very hard.

And because it's a big mystery to everyone how far down his tattoo goes, I am going to say it covers his shoulder down to his shoulder-blade and bicep and continues down his chest and ends on his hip-bone. If someone was REALLY bored and G was somehow naked they would notice a slight inconsistency in the color of the ink on the tattoo, revealing he got it done in separate installments. If one were to be looking at the tattoo portion on his back they would see that it's actually on top of a set nasty-looking scars where it appears someone carved and burned things into his shoulder and upper arm.

G is also riddled with much easier scars to spot. The most noticeable are the gunshot wounds that pretty much decorate his everywhere like he's a dalmatian. The most prominent is one on his chest that was a helluva close call for him. Nearby most of the gunshot wounds (with a few exceptions here and there) are little cuts, where G would dig out the bullet later if it resurfaced near the skin. On the back of his hands he has some very old and near faded scars from the numerous times he got hit with a ruler in school or by the crotchety old folk who couldn't tolerate him as a kid, but it's difficult to see under the many other cuts, burns, and callouses from working who frequently works with his hands. There's also some faint scarring around his wrists and ankles for the multitude of times he got himself caught and locked up SOMEWHERE.

There's an old stab wound scar on his right thigh, a few various scars on his arms and legs from getting thrown off his horse as well as just being a moron in general. His feet, while thickly calloused and just rough-looking in general are a bit of a mess. He's had broken toes, which while long-since healed, still don't quite look right. And he seems to have taken a couple shots to the foot.

G on... IDK... stuff.

Women: G has an odd way of viewing women. On one hand, he respects them for the whole... child birthing thing (after all he's seen his mother go through it thrice), and he has no problem admitting they are probably the smarter of the sexes on average. This is based on the fact that woman are smart enough to get men it go fight their battles for them, and that 99% of the time men will go fight those battles with no complaint. He's also hesitant to strike a woman in most cases, as he also sees them as being fragile, however if something important involving those close to him is involved or he doesn't feel the woman is acting like a lady, he'll hesitate considerably less.

On the other hand, G is notorious for sleeping around and shamelessly hitting on anyone moderately good-looking and blessed with a vagina. He's aware that most of his attempts will end in failure on account of him aiming for woman a higher class than him. Doesn't stop him from trying.

Alcohol: G wasn't an alcoholic per se but he did use alcohol to keep his temper in check or to bless him with a little extra patience for things such as Vongola meetings, or babysitting Lampo. So he's mostly a stress-drinker... which means he probably did drink more than he should.

Getting completely plastered wasn't exactly a rarity for him wither. When he was out to drink with Giotto or the Vongola for fun for example, or on the very rare occasion he was trying to deal with some horrible life-stress that he wasn't ready to handle completely.

Cigarettes are more his vice of choice above drinking- though considering his time period he has no idea they're bad for him.

Cooking: G is not an amazing cook. He only knows a couple of recipes, and they're pretty simple. He can basically only replicate what others have taught him, only adding things if someone brings it to his attention. So his meals are at least average, only good enough to be above bland. Though he's used to using very fresh ingredients so perhaps to some it would be better.

G's lovelife: Growing up he had a neighbor from a more middle-class home. He essentially grew up with her beating him up, not badly, but she did not tolerate his BLATANT lack of any sort of etiquette. This pattern of them fighting like cats and dogs pretty much didn't stop for the entirety of their time together, even when G was more than capable of fighting back, he simply took her beatings as they had started to hurt considerably less as he got older, and occurred less frequently, replaced my more verbal arguments.

Also as they got older their argument s subject shifted slightly... while many still centered around G's amazing incapability to act like a normal human being, it also started to come from worry at the fact that he usually walked around looking like death warmed over due to the frequent beatings he was getting while following Giotto.

Not long after the shift in argument topics, G actually kissed her... though it was for the sole purpose of shutting her up, or so he claims (the second time he tried that tactic he got slapped). Overall G was very fond of her, and even had talked about marrying her on a few occasions (the arguing was simply part of the charm apparently), however before they went to far G broke it off with her when he was about sixteen. He saw that his chosen lifestyle would leave her worrying endlessly, and could put her in danger. He also felt she deserved more than a thug like him.

After that he started his habit of sleeping around, just looking to satisfy his urges and never willing to get close to a woman. He looked his old girlfriend up later on in life to find her married with a few children, and looking well. He didn't regret his choice at all, and was happy for her, but never went over to say hello.
