Character: G
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Version: MANGA
Canon Point: After the Vongola rings were broken during the Simon arc
Age: Died at 26 (headcanon) been stuck in the ring for about a century
Gender:Male
History: http://reborn.wikia.com/wiki/Kateky%C5%8D_Hitman_Reborn! for an overview of the series.
There is VERY LITTLE about G's back ground other than he met Giotto as a child and they went off to start a mafia together, known as the Vongola. Later he became Giotto's right hand man, and the whole organization was later betrayed by one of their own. And during some unexplained time in some unexplained way, his will was trapped in his ring, essentially letting him haunt it. (as you can see this series is just oh so generous with details). For the sake of not having G strut about naked in the halls, I will just assume he will have what he had on him before he died. There is an anime filler arc with him but for the sake of my sanity I will just disregard that flying bundle of OOC nonsense and take him from the manga.
G's entire purpose is to essentially be a mirror character of Gokudera, one of the main protagonists, and thus his appearances are brief and no background given. I have, however, thought up a multitude of headcanon in which I have tried to piece together basic facts given his assumed time period, fill in some canon holes, and mirrored Gokudera's upbringing to try to make it as close to canon as headcanon could possibly be.
Personality: G is adouchebag with a heart of gold man who is very rough around the edges. He’s got a rather blunt and slangy way of speaking. He doesn’t care about being courteous, he simply tells things as they are, even if it comes across as being cold or rude- and you can typically expect some variation of the word ‘fuck’ to accompany it. Naturally this somewhat dwarfs his potential to be a social butterfly. The only person who doesn’t get his usual gruff treatment is his boss, the first Vongola boss and his childhood friend: Giotto.
Despite being in the mafia, G is an overall moral man. The Vongola family had started as a vigilante group to make up for the lack of law in the area after all. This means that he will not hesitate to take the law into his hands. He is very much the kind of person to “do all the wrong things for all the right reasons”, so he will never harm the destitute or downtrodden, in fact he would most likely do his best to help them... but still be a bit of a dick about it.
Giotto gets G at his best, of course there’s only so much you get at G’s best, but he shows his respect in the best way he can. Of course they’ve also known each other since childhood so there is a great deal of familiarity there. He is loyal to the end and will do anything for Giotto and the Vongola. Much like his tenth generation successor, Gokudera, it can probably be assumed that he would go throw the same torture and interrogation he had and not speak a word on the Vongola.
G mirrors Gokudera in more then just that aspect. He is also is known to generally beat on the Vongola lightning guardian. It can probably be assumed that he is also just as horribly incapable of caring for children or tolerating anyone cowardly or whiney. Despite being more calm and level headed to Gokudera, he still has a temper and a limited amount of patience.
Fears: G doesn't fear much, either because he's too stupid, cocky, or already dead (not much can get worse than that). However, he's a very active person and holds a lot of value in how hard he works for the Vongola. He likes to work, and he likes to be useful, so somehow preventing him from doing that would be soul crushing to him. Also Giotto and the rest of the Vongola (though mostly Giotto sine they're childhood friends, and Lampo since he's a kid) hold a lot of value to him, even if he doesn't always show it.
He's got a bit of guilt about dying early as well, especially when the Vongola needed him though right now he doesn't know what happened after he died. (Since that's a mun-decision thing)
Weaknesses: While he can usually keep it under control, he does have a temper and a rebellious attitude which will probably get him into trouble on more than a few occasions.
He holds little in regard to political authority. If there is a law that he thinks is wrong he will very simply not follow it.
He’s not a very trusting person.
He can hold a grudge like it’s nobodies business.
Trigger happy.
He's from the early 1900's, so when he died cars still needed cranks. Technology will be forever lost on him.
Mundane Strengths/Abilities:
(kind of lumping most of it together down below since his supernatural stuff is tied with more mundane things)
Sensitivity/Magical Ability: G's weapon of choice are guns or a special set of bows and arrows- which is pretty normal... but he comes from a stereotypical Shonen manga that goes on for eons and eons of chapters. He’s well equipped with a good old set of Shonen lasers. In Katekyo Hitman Reborn the Shonen lasers of choice are elemental flames referred to as 'flames of resolution’. G's element are storm flames, with the properties of destruction. Typically they are used to eat through other attacks, or walls, and are in essence just super-powered shonen fire. He usually channels his storm flames into his arrows when he shoots (since storm flames + gunpower is PROBABLY not the best idea ever).
To channel these flames he needs his Vongola ring, which each of the Vongola guardians possess to help them channel their flames.
He's also a sharpshooter, said to own a multitude of guns. Since it's not elaborated much on other than that I am going to say he carries six pistols on him, each with a different range and purpose since it would coincide with Gokudera's dynamite and how he's modeled it. Considering that G was made to essentially be a mirror of Gokudera I think this makes sense.
Supply List: (for the sake of not arriving nude and defensless, let's just go with what he had on him when he died)
Six guns, 2 revolvers, 3 automatic pistols, and one rifle (all modified by him). The bow and arrows given to him by his boss, his Vongola ring, his clothes, some old Italian currency, and his pocket watch.
Game Transfers: None
Sample RP post:
G sat in the room that he had claimed as his, polishing his guns. Almost a hundred years of being dead, yet here he was fluidly going over the familiar motions of maintaining his weapons just like he had been when he was alive. He was in his own body again, no longer simply a will trapped in a ring. It was surreal, but he wasn't complaining... too much. Though his boss wasn't here from what he had seen. He had no direction, no purpose, just an existence. At least while he was trapped in that ring he could serve some sort of purpose, however dull and pathetic that existence was.
The man sighed and shook his head, putting down the pistol on the bedside table, with a sort of gentleness he rarely showed to people. He took out his little container of tobacco and rolled himself a cigarette hoping it would distract him from his musings. Surely he could find something to do. Should the Primo ever arrive, he needed to be prepared. He would need to scout the area, learn what was going on.... which meant he may have to actually try to read into things. Not fond of the idea, but he had the time, and it was for the benefit of the Vongola. He would do it, and write something up for the Primo with his findings. But for now...
G leaned back on the bed, folding his arms behind his head as he does so. Like he said, he had plenty of time...
